The Yukon Gold Rush- Dyea

Journal 1

Today was very brutal. I was just driving along when bandits came by. I reached for my revolver, but the sling was empty. So I jerked my horses to the left on a trail, and just when I thought I lost them, BOOM! A bullet to the leg. They threw me onto the ground and stole my stuff. When all hope was lost, the sheriff shot around the corner to my rescue and chased of the bandits. But my trek was not over yet. The Sheriff had someone watch my cart while we bumped 23 miles to the nearest doctor who patched me up and I was finally on my way again. I had to buy a new set of pants and a shirt. My tophat was okay all in all. I saved my goods , I'm in recovery, and I'm safe.

Journal 2

Today was pretty good because I woke up at dawn to a beautiful red sky that I could have lived with forever because it was so beautiful. I started a fire with one strike of a conspicuous green flint so I wouldn't lose it. I warmed up my oatmeal that was a weird pink color but it didn't matter. I was eating my weird tasting oatmeal when all of a sudden I got a queasy feeling in my stomach. When I looked at the expiration date on the oatmeal and it said 1889! The oatmeal was 25 years old!!! I had also got food poisoning I found out later that night. I was sicker than a dog. I puked my guts out for days and I wouldn't get better, so I went to the doctor and told him my bad oatmeal story and he gave me some pills. 5 days later, I got better.

Today was interesting. I was driving in my cart to another red beautiful sky that kept the air frosty on the cool winter morning. I was driving along eating my turkey sandwich with cheese, mustard, and some mayo on rye. Everything was fine until the road got really rocky and I tried to take a short cut so I wouldn't damage my wooden wagon wheels and it was starting to get dark so I set up camp. I saw a guy walking down the road to my camp. He came and said his name was Bob and that he was very hungry, so we had dinner. I made his day. It felt good to help a fellow after a long day of ripping people off. I wonder if I should stop, but that's how I make money so I'll have to think about that one.

Today was hard, I was riding in a cool overcast sky on a spring afternoon. The air was still, everything was peaceful. Even though I couldn't hear the canadian quail, which is Canada's national bird, but I could hear something familiar but I couldn't quite put my finger on it but it suddenly came to me, it was a low moan of a deer, one of it's legs was broken. I went to go help it, I as I was power walking to it, I saw claw marks on the tree next to it. I looked and saw that this wasn't an accident. Then I heard something I never want to hear again, the low groan of a mountain lion, I ran as fast as I could back to my cart, but I was too slow. The cat tackled me but left me enough time for me to reach for my dagger and jam it into his thick skin. He screeched in pain and ran off, i got out of there as quick as I could.

Today was action packed, today all my goods were sold so I headed back to town to restock my items, so I went to the local general store to get what I needed. I was in line waiting with my bag of things and when it was my turn I took out my wallet and realized I had no money. So I asked the clerk if he could hold my things while I get money and he said sure. So I walked into the bank and saw a guy that looked shaggy and up to no good and it turned out I was right. When it was his turn in line he pulled out his dagger and demanded all the bank's money. Luckily I had my revolver and after some reasoning, I talked him out of it. No one got hurt and I got my goods and went on with my day. It was an experience of a lifetime.
